About

Nurturing and promoting the success of Indigenous students, staff and communities.

Indigenous engagement at UQ

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement) leads UQ's involvement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff, researchers and alumni, as well as the wider Indigenous community.

Led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement) Professor Bronwyn Fredericks, we're committed to recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' enduring knowledge and connection to Country, and to promoting inclusive and respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across all areas of our organisation.

Reconciliation

We aim to create a strong sense of belonging in an inclusive UQ.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) (PDF, 1.7MB) reflects our commitment to respecting, recognising and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights, cultures and success in the research and education landscape and in Australian society.
